After attending a course in Myofunctional Therapy, Lauren realized this was the missing link that would allow her to take her career to the next level. Utilizing this exercise based therapy, she teaches her patients awareness of proper tongue placement, nasal breathing, and correct chewing and swallowing patterns. This treatment approach allows her to help patients reach their full genetic potential and prevent a lifetime of problems that would otherwise not have been addressed in our current medical model of healthcare.
Lauren is also Butekyo Breathing certified which emphasizes nasal breathing, breathing awareness, relaxation, and diaphragmatic breathing. This therapy coupled with myofunctional therapy is what makes Lauren unique and allows her to treat everyone, from the smallest of patients all the way throughout life.
Rachel is a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) who joined our team in July 2021. Originally, Rachel is from upstate New York where she completed her Bachelors of Nursing and Masters Nursing at Binghamton University. Prior to completing her Masters, Rachel worked in Neurology as a registered nurse focusing on patients who dealt with chronic pain and headaches.
Upon moving to Delaware, Rachel completed a fellowship in Primary Care with Christiana Care.
During her fellowship, she became frustrated with experiences as a nurse practitioner in primary care and sought out a role where she could make a bigger impact. Upon identifying a need for nutritional guidance for our patient population, Rachel acquired a certification in nutrition from the University of Stanford. It is her hope that with this knowledge, she can help provide holistic care and guide patients to naturalistic optimal health. Outside of work, Rachel enjoys kayaking, hiking, cooking, as well as spending time with friends and family.
